5 THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN INSTALLING A NEW A/C SYSTEM
Choosing and installing a new air conditioning system requires more than just the decision to do the job – there’s a lot to think about. From the type of system that will best serve your family to how it will operate, it’s important to review all the angles.
Type of System
It probably comes as no surprise that there’s more than just one type of air conditioning system. And each system varies greatly in both application and budget. Lisco offers everything from traditional central air conditioning to more modern wall-mounted ductless split systems.
Efficiency
An air conditioning system’s efficiency is a major factor in your home’s operating costs. It is worth it to analyze how much a higher efficiency system will save you on your annual energy bills. Ask our experts for details.
Size
Not only do you have to consider the right type of system for your home, but also the right size system. If a system is undersized it will work harder to cool your space, therefore creating excess wear and tear on the unit. A system that is oversized will cycle on and off more frequently, running up your energy costs. Make sure you take into account the size of your system before moving forward with an installation.
Compressor Technology
Compressor technology can get a bit confusing. If you find yourself torn between a single, multi or variable speed compressor, here’s a few things to consider. A single stage compressor will simply turn on and off, much like a light switch. A single stage system is more economically priced but will produce more temperature swings. A two stage compressor, has two speeds of operation – high and low. A variable speed compressor is the most efficient and will produce the greatest amount of comfort because it cycles at various speeds throughout the day to produce the most even and consistent temperatures.
Quiet Operation
Not all systems are created equal – in operation or in sound output. If whisper quiet performance is a feature you would value, let our sales professionals know so that they can explain the various system options.
WHICH AIR CONDITIONER IS RIGHT FOR YOUR HOME?
Central Air Conditioning
When you are replacing an existing central air conditioning system, it’s often wise to stick with the same type of system. Your home is already well suited for a central system and has adequate ductwork to serve a new unit.
Ductless Split System
Ductless systems are best suited for homes that lack the ductwork needed to install central air conditioning. This can include home additions that are not connected to the original ductwork or homes that have no ductwork at all. They’re also ideal for individual rooms or spaces that always seem to be too hot or too cold.
